Featured speaker Julie Landsman will lead a thought-provoking discussion around equity issues in our schools.
This full-day conference runs 9:00am-3:30pm including breakfast, luncheon, and opportunities for networking.
Target Audience:
K-12 teachers, principals, instructional coaches, and teaching support staff. Education students, district leaders, and teacher education faculty will also find this conference useful.
Conference goals
The 2nd Annual Professionalism in Practice conference seeks to:
- Increase professional dialogue about equitable practices that have an impact on all learners;
- Empower educators to share exemplary practices, lessons learned, and evidence from schools and classrooms;
- Provide time and space for conference participants to reflect on and make connections to their practice.
Strands for 2008:
Instruction: Instructional designs, strategies, and/or assessments that support rigorous work for all learners
Professionalism: Staff development strategies and/or leadership models that support a high standard of professionalism
Relationships: Structures or strategies that build relationships with students, families, community, and/or colleagues that support student learning
Format—2 types of sessions
Interactive Workshops: Presenters share exemplary practices with colleagues through modeling and leading a simulation where participants are actively involved.
Research Round Tables: Presenters share professional learning and inquiry and lead participants in examining data and discussing the impact on students.
