We invite you to join the ongoing professional conversation by contributing to our next issue of Professionalism in Practice
Share your learning, research, and knowledge of promising practices with other educators through Professionalism in Practice, a teacher-driven professional journal centering discussions of theory, research, and practice around the people who bring all three together in the classroom every day.
Articles should reflect one or more of the Five Core Propositions of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. We interpret the term "teachers" used in the Five Core Propositions broadly, so as to include all school staff.
NBPTS Five Core Propositions
- Teachers are committed to students and their learning.
- Teachers know the subjects they teach and how to teach those subjects to students.
- Teachers are responsible for managing and monitoring student learning.
- Teachers think systematically about their practice and learn from experience.
- Teachers are members of learning communities.
Articles may focus on action research, reflective journal excerpts, literature reviews, data analysis, NBPTS-related work, and/or explanations of professional development and its application and impact on practice.
One of the purposes of this publication is to inform our practice through reflection on experience and connection to the educational literature. References and a properly formatted bibliography are requested.
Please submit your article as an email attachment in Microsoft Word to sharon.ornelas@mpls.k12.mn.us. Contributors agree to have their pieces edited for length and clarity. Articles will be published on-line and/or in print. |
